The Health Sciences Library will not always have all the materials you need, but we have borrowing agreements that allow us to obtain the books, dissertations, articles and audiovisual materials that you need.
Health Sciences Library/Morningside Campus Delivery
If CLIO, the library catalog, indicates that a book is available at another Columbia University library, fill out this request form or select "Inter-Campus Delivery" from the record in CLIO and the item will be delivered to the Health Sciences Library, generally within 3-4 business days.
If an item is owned by Columbia University but listed as offsite in CLIO, the library catalog, they can be requested by using the "Request from Offsite" button on the right-hand side of an item record. These items typically can be retrieved from the offsite location (ReCAP) within one or two business days. The form also provides an option to request scans (electronic delivery) of articles or portions of books instead of physical delivery.
If a book is not owned by Columbia University or is currently checked out, you may submit a request to borrow directly from the partner research libraries, such as Brown University, Cornell University, University of Pennsylvania, Princeton University, and Yale University.
If an item is not owned by Columbia University or any of the Borrow Direct institutions submit a request to the Interlibrary Loan office. The ILL staff will do their best to get any book, dissertation, article or audiovisual material that you request.
