The Archives & Special Collections reading room will close on March 31, 2008 and will remain closed until further notice. Departmental staff will be preparing the collections for the move into temporary space while the old stack areas are demolished and new ones constructed.

Limited reading room access will be possible during this time for Columbia University and New York-Presbyterian Hospital administrators only. Email and phone reference inquiries will still be accepted but response time will be much longer than previously.

After the move into temporary space, some limited reading room hours may be possible for archival and manuscript collections; however, most of the book and journal collection will be unavailable until the new stacks are completed, tentatively expected for August or September.

Please bear with us during this time of transition. We will try to make this disruption as brief as possible and will work with patrons to find alternative sources for the materials they need.
