Columbia University Medical Center: Deans of the Health Science Schools College of Physicians and Surgeons School of Nursing College of Dental Medicine Mailman School of Public Health l. College of Physicians and Surgeons Founded as the Faculty of Medicine of King's College, 1767. School of Nursing Founded as the Presbyterian Hospital Training School for Nurses, 1892; renamed Presbyterian Hospital School of Nursing, c.1904; became Department of Nursing of the Columbia University Faculty of Medicine, 1937; Columbia University School of Nursing, 1974.  From 1937 to c.1974, director of the School of Nursing had the title "Assistant Dean for Nursing."                Anna C.
