Loansome Doc for Unaffiliated Users

Loansome Doc is a document delivery service which enables users of online Medline and other biomedical indexes via the U.S. National Library of Medicine (NLM) interface (Pubmed) to order full-text articles. The user orders articles through the Loansome Doc feature directly on the Pubmed or IGM system while doing a Medline search. His order is then redirected by NLM computer to the Ordering Library with which the user has established the agreement for document delivery.

Potential user should start the process of establishing oneself as a Loansome Doc user by carefully reading information on Loansome Doc and the options available on the NLM's Web page. The second step is to sign an agreement and to register with the local library such as Columbia University Health Sciences Library. Third step is to go back to the NLM's Web page and register with NLM, providing them with the ID of the Ordering Library selected by the user. Then, the user may start ordering full-text articles through the Loansome Doc feature of Pubmed.

If you agree with Columbia University Health Sciences Library conditions for the Loansome Doc delivery, fill out and electronically submit the Registration Form. BY SUBMITTING THE REGISTRATION FORM YOU AGREE WITH COLUMBIA UNIVERSITY HEALTH SCIENCES LIBRARY CONDITIONS:
