What is ILLiad
What is ILLiad ?ILLiad is a new system for you use to request Interlibrary Loans. If you have requested an Interlibrary Loan from the Morningside campus you will have already used Illiad. Illiad is the same interlibrary loan system used by the other Columbia libraries. How is ILLiad better than the old ILL system?
How do I login to Illiad?Select Services > Interlibrary Loan Services from the blue menu on our web site. Click on the link titled Order a Book or Order a Journal. You will be prompted to enter your UNI and password twice. This is normal. The first time you login to Illiad you will be prompted to enter some personal information, such as affiliation etc. This will happen one time only. Why do I need my UNI and password to use ILLiad?Your UNI and password allows us to give you secure access to information about your interlibrary loan requests. Columbia offers other UNI-based resources - your UNI and the password are your logon to a variety of resources such as Student Services Online, Library Digital Collections, your Columbia personal home pages, and much more. What should I do if I forget my password?Contact the Service Desk at (212) 305-4357 or visit the 2nd floor of the Health Sciences Library for a password reset. Proof of identification will be required. After your password is reset you can use the Forgot your password online form to choose a new password and immediately access your account again. Will the Columbia e-Link button work with Illiad?Yes. The e-Link button If you use the e-Link button the Illiad forms will be automatically filled for you. This is quicker for you and eliminates the chance of typos. What Web browser should I use?Illiad will work with Internet Explorer, FireFox and Safari. Is security a problem if I use a public workstation? It can be. Web browsers cache information and create a history file on the local workstation. This allows a subsequent user of the workstation to access the system under your name using the browser's Back button to recall a page from the cache. If you are concerned about the privacy of your interlibrary loan requests, you can take the following steps:
