Iceboxes in the Harkness Pavilion, the private patients wing when Columbia-Presbyterian opened in 1928. According to hospital press releases at the time, patients could dine in the Pavilion's own restaurant or bring their own food which would be stored in these private iceboxes. The Pavilion also had rooms in which accompanying family members could stay.
