Where to find library material

Looking for books or journals at the Health Sciences Library? Confused about how access to library materials will be affected by construction in 2008?  We are committed to providing high-quality service throughout the construction process. Electronic journals (wide range of years covered)

1. Databases (e.g., PubMed, Ovid’s MEDLINE) provide the most convenient journal access for most types of questions. (Also consider using resources on the complete list of HSL databases or  Columbia University databases).

2. Search CLIO (http://clio.cul.columbia.edu) to check for electronic access of a specific journal, or check relevant Columbia e-journals lists (http://library.cpmc.columbia.edu/hsl/ejournals.html).

Paper journals not available electronically

1. Check whether a different Columbia University Library holds a copy by searching the title in CLIO (http://clio.cul.columbia.edu). Then, request material from any Morningside Heights library via the HS-Morningside delivery service: http://www.columbia.edu/cu/lweb/requestit/hsl_morningside.html   

2. Consider requesting books through BorrowDirect, a self-service option that is among the fastest ways to get books: http://www.columbia.edu/cu/lweb/requestit/borrow_direct.html

3.Submit a Request Materials form via the Health Sciences Library website.

These items can be found on the Lobby Level. This material is for in-house use only .
Location is:
“Health Sciences Reserve”
This can be found behind the circulation desk. Go to the desk and request the item from a staff member. This material may be used only in the library for 2 hours at a time.
