What is a feed?

An RSS Feed, is a frequently updated content published by a website. It is usually used for news , but can also be used for distributing other types of digital files, including pictures, audio or video.

Feeds that deliver audio content (usually in MP3 format which you can listen to on your computer or MP3 player) are often called podcasts.

How do I read or subscribe to a feed?

The newest versions of Firefox and Internet Explorer have RSS feed readers built in. You can easily configure them to read an RSS feed.

If a web page has a feed it is usually signified with the RSS icon rss feed icon. Click the RSS icon to see the contents of a feed. You will see a list of feed items. To get content automatically, you should subscribe to a feed. Subscribing to a feed links it to your browsers much as bookmarking links web pages.
