MANAGEMENT OF HIV/AIDS [VIDEORECORDING]
Kerkering, T. M..  NCME ; no. 856: 1 DVD (60 min.) : sd., col. ; 4 3/4 in. + 1 CD-ROM (4 3/4 in.). 'Today, almost 1 million Americans are infected with HIV, yet one quarter of these individuals are unaware that they have the infection and are at risk of infecting others. Of those with newly diagnosed HIV infection, 41% discover that they are HIV positive less than a year before they develop AIDS, indicating that these patients harbored an undetected HIV infection for years before being diagnosed. Fortunately, HIV antibody tests are now available, making "point of care" testing possible. In addition, as a result of advances in treatment over the past decade, AIDS has gone from being a terminal illness to a chronic, long-term medical condition. In this video program, Dr. Kerkering provides primary care provider--generally the first point of contact for patients with HIV/AIDSwith timely, practical information about diagnosing and managing patients with HIV/AIDS.'
