CDC's concern is prevention and control of communicable diseases, environmental health, etc. Offers online information in categories: Travelers' Health, Health Topics A-Z, Publicatioins, Software & Products, Data and Statistics, etc. Offers links to the WEB sites of CDC's 11 centers, institute and offices.

COMPREHENSIVE EPIDEMIOLOGIC DATA RESOURCE (CEDR).
(U.S. Deparment of Energy - DOE). Provides public access to health and exposure data concerning DOE installations: data from epidemiologic studies, studies of populations residing near DOE installations, and other studies of radiation health effects, such as classic studies of atomic bomb survivors and the radium dial painters. Includes health and mortality data sets, classic radiation data sets, community epidemiologic studies, etc.

(Pan American Health Organization - PAHO). Offers population, health and epidemiology statistics as Health in the Americas publication as well as Individual country profiles. Covers all countries of the Americas. PAHO's country profile database functions as the official regional information source on mortality in the Americas.

Offers statistics produced for public use by more than 70 U.S. Federal Government agencies. Allows to search for statistics by agency, by program (subject), by subject alphabetically (A to Z), by keyword (search the entire site), by region (county, state, country approach), provides links to other sites, etc. Site Map provided helps easy choice of search approach. Under Fast Facts provides links to and allows to view the full text of Statistical Abstract of the United States, State and Metropolitan Area Data Book, Socioeconomic Status, etc. Accidents and injuries statistics can be found in Programs under Safety Statistics category.
