GRAY PANTHERS (GP)
Consciousness-raising activist group of older adults and young people. Aims to combat ageism - the discrimination against persons on the basis of chronological age. Believes that both the old and the young have much to contribute to make our society more just and humane. Advises, acts as acatalyst for, and organizes local groups of young, middle-aged, and older persons to work on issues of their choosing. Conducts work on eight national interests: national health care, affordable housing, environmental preservtion, peace, ending discrimination, education, economic and tax justice, and social justice.

MEALS ON WHEELS ASSOCIATION OF AMERICA (MOWAA)
Agencies that provide home-delivered meals and/or meals in a congregate setting, and other health and social services such as transportation, recreation, nutrition education, information, referral, and case management. Promotes the improvement of the quality of life for the needy, particularly the elderly, disabled, and homebound. Delivers nutritionally balanced meals to disabled and homebound elderly persons, thereby reducing or eliminating the need for institutionalization and promoting independent and community-based living arrangements. Advocates community-based, home-delivered, and congregate meal programs; encourages and assists in establishing new programs; provides technical assistance to community meal programs and acts as a forum for exchange of information regarding home-delivered and congregate meal programs.
